Oral & maxillofacial radiology (OMR) is a type of specialty concerning the performing, understanding and interpretation of diagnostic imaging modalities used in dentistry and other health care professions related to neck, facial and oral structures. OMR has experienced an explosive unparalleled growth of knowledge and development of new technologies in dentistry. In radiographic interpretation even though the features for a diagnosis are present, it is difficult to pick them up unless they have a thorough knowledge of normal and abnormal appearances.
